ERASMUS KA210 “La MEMOria che Resta”

THE MEMORY THAT REMAINS

Background

Emphasising the centrality of the student as well as the bodily and relational dimension of the mind.

About the Project
The project Erasmus KA210 “La MEMOria Che Resta” hinges on changing the educational paradigm and teaching practices by racticedi the centrality of the student as well as the bodily and relational dimension of the mind. The first section of the project, meant as preparatory, intends to enhance a culture of confrontation and dialogue as strategies for building a democratic social coexistence against the racticedion of indifference and the inurement to the horrors of war. For this purpose, didactic opportunities for emotional, sentimental and cooperative education will arise to directly experience the significance of overcoming the conflicting win-lose logics, specifically, by exploring the possibilities implied in:
  • 1. going beyond the dichotomies: mind-body, individual-society;
  • 2. understanding the “generative conflict” seen as a confrontation between diversities.
The practice of the latter will make it possible to learn how to redefine relationships by exploring the benefits of sub-optimal solutions as opposed to two possibilities: denial of conflict and the degradation of conflict into antagonism and war. Such a culture of dialogue, applied to unresolved and seemingly irresolvable issues, known in its constituent and problematic aspects and racticed in all spheres, can help teachers and students face the challenges of the present and the future. The second section of the project, consequential to the first, will investigate the shadowy areas of History, those ignored by school textbooks, in which the limits of the oppositional logic victim/perpetrator can be glimpsed. Through on-site documentary research, knowledge of the epistemological status pertaining to the subject – History – and its problematic aspects such as its ideologization, its instrumental use or the inevitable confusion between history and memory will be consolidated. Thus, its subjective, environmental and defensive conditioning will also be acknowledged.
